Best way to rig overlapping clothes?

Best way to rig overlapping clothes?

Hi,

Please could you give some advice for the situation when you have several layers overlapping (in this case skin of the character, then a T-shirt layer then a tunic). I found that in certain positions the layers underneath would push through the upper layers. Thanks for any advice. (The file is a 2014 .max file

Would it be better to put all the layers in one poly object and have one Bones Pro modifier on this one object or just to go and delete the covered over polygons of the objects covered over by other ones.

(This was my first attempt at rigging with Bones Pro. I have a series of poses that I've set at frames 3,6,9 and 12. I didn't do a good job on rigging the trousers. I think the leg bones weren't central enough in the mesh to begin with. I've made it look okay from the perspective of the camera. The other side I didn't worry about. For another time. )

there might be a way to skin separate objects... but usually the approach i use is to attach all objects into one and then skin that

Many thanks having all the geometry in one mesh works much better.
