[RESOLVED] Bones Pro crash on assign bones with CAT.

Hi there,

I'm just having this issue with Bones Pro where I get a crash every time I try to assign bones to my CAT rig.
Seems like it has something to do with segments in the cat rig legs...

I managed to reproduce it in a clunky way here -
Create a Cat rig "Base Human" and something to rig to it.

Create a selection set for the legs and pelvis -

Add bones pro to the teapot and assign the legs -

Select the thighs and in the modifier panel set the segments to 3 -

Make a new selection set for the new bones (and pelvis) -

Turn on "move bones" and assign the new legs to the character -

If this doesn't crash it, repeat the last step and it should crash.


It's driving me nuts because I have a scene that won't let me add assign anything at all...
Any ideas?

BTW - Using
Bones Pro 4.62.0
3DSMax 16.0 SP5 (2014)

Hi Peteski

this is almost normal condition. Autodesk 3dsMax will have problems in almost all cases when you build a chain of bones, link them around, skin object with it, and then afterward start DELETING existing bones from the structure. Make first your rig finished, and then add skin or bonespro to it, this is the only way to avoid 3dsmax crashes.
