image I/O error

image I/O error

Postby SylHar » Tue Dec 22, 2009 2:48 pm

Hi.

I don't know from where this problem came, but with some of my meshes I get this error when baking

( with other meshes, and exactly the same procedure, I've got no problem)

It's a pop-up:
Code: Select all
Image I/O Error
C:\Documents and Setting\..\ Desktop\ents\3dsmax\sceneassets\renderassets\_0_0.png
retry cancel

with retry, same problem append. with cancel, the baked texture is all black.

Hello Syrlhar

thank you for your feedback - we have too less information to do a trace-back. To understand the problem (and FaltIron is a huge monster hard coded into 4 or 5 different, complicated renderer like VRay, FinalRender, Mr etc) we need few details from you. Basically it works always, but since FlatIron deals with many parameters in other renderers, we can point you very fast of what setting went wrong:

- Your Max Version (2008, 9 etc)
- Your OS (64bit, Vista etc)
- FlatIron Version (i assume the current 1.5)
- The renderer: Vray, MR, FRender etc
- what are you exactly doing in the scene - best of all, send us please a test scene or a part of it with your parameters to info@3d-plugin.com so we can operate on it

From what i see in the message i can only guess according to some experience:
- you have no right to write into this folder (solution change the save folder)
- you use VRay, and you don't use VRayComplete Render Element but Complete Render Element, and save the image with no Alpha in PNG (these are some specific VRay things we can not access)

We would be very glad to get more info to show you the way out

thanks!
best regards

hello SylHar

thank you very much for the swift answer and the file; it is at the moment by the tech support, from what i can see i have one question: the name is 0_0.png. How did you create such name - did you enter the output name in the request field (where it asks for the folder etc) or did you let max decide what name to write. I ask this because 0_0 is something from the old days, a generic name creation. This is, my opinion, the problem. I think you must enter the name for the saving image, for example "my_image.png" and not let max write some binary that causes problems.
You will get the answer from tech support very soon, but i would be glad to hear something more about this name design, since i know this 0_0 from the past as FlatIron was rendering in many passes (which is obsolete in the new version, which does all scene in one pass). I hope this is the problem.

thanks
best regards
