[RESOLVED] Unwrella not installing properly

Hi, I installed and tested this fantastic plugin on my home machine over the weekend, and now want to get it installed here at work so I can show proof-of-concept to get full licenses here. The home install worked with no problems. But the install here is giving me an error about the currently installed Microsoft DirectX version...which is incorrect, as it says I need to have the latest DirectX 9 version installed, which I do. Ignoring that install error (the install continues and completes fine otherwise) causes Max to give a start-up error:
DLL<C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2009\PlugIns\unwrella2_MAX@))(_x64.dlm>failed to initialize.
Error code 126 - the specified module could not be found.

Note that this is a Trial Version of 64-bit Max until our next batch of licenses comes in and IT can go around and get us all upgraded, if that could possibly make a difference?

If I ignore the error, Unwrella simply does not show up in the Modifier list.

Okay, I did re-install the latest DX and it seems to load fine now.

BUT!

The Unwrella helper script makes Max hang. I can define the pelt seams fine with UVW Unwrap, then start the script, but as soon as I press the Use Pelt Seams button, it opens a full-screen blank UVW Edit screen and hangs--no grid or anything, just the base-gray window. No dialogues or menus respond, can't minimize the UV window nor even Max itself.

It's the ability to define the seams and use Unwrella to keep the pixel ratios equal and then bring the whole thing into MudBox which was the selling point for me over the weekend, working with this. Hopefully it's a small problem!

Hallo guy,

thanks for your inquiry: the problem is easy to solve - when you draw your blue seams on the object in UVW Unwrapp, you have to have it selected it when you press the MaxScript. This is the Limitation of Max, it can convert the blue lines to seams only if you are in this UnwrapUVW modifyer.
We will try to implement it in the next versions directly into unwrella.

Hi searched and found this thread, I am getting the same error.
I have DirectX 11. installed so I don't think thats a problem.
Also if I do need uninstall re-install directx how do I do that ?
There doesn't seem to be listed in the Programs install.

Hello

as stated, it does not matter if you have DirectX11. You Need to install DirectX 9c.

Receiving an error message ‘Error code 126 – The specified module could not be found’ when you try to start 3ds Max with Unwrella indicates that you do not have Microsoft DirectX9c installed on the computer you’re trying to use Flatiron on.
You might already have DirectX10 or later installed on your computer. This is not a full replacement for version 9c. DirectX9 and DirectX10 can be installed next to each other on the same computer. You will not ‘downgrade’ or lose any DirectX10 capabilities by installing DirectX9c.
