unwrap textured object

Postby jopfe » 03 Jul 2014 10:58

hi there,

i've got a pretty messed up texture map comming out of a recent 3d full body scan.
to adjust the texture in photoshop i would like to have a cleaner uv map.

so my question is if there is a solution to use unwrella to create a better uv map but maintaining the actual texture map where it is. to make clear what i've got i will upload the initial and the first unwrella one-click solution of the actual texture map.

initial map:

unwrella's result:

so im pretty happy with the resulting uv map but it really messes up (and i know it makes sense) the actual placement of the texture itself.

thank you and best regards,
jonas

ah so, it was a question.

Ok, from what i see, you must unwrapp with unwrella to UV Channel 2, then press "0" on keyboard while object selected, and bake from UV-Channel 1 to unwrella created UV Channel 2. Use Diffuse Map render element. Setup texture size to desired size. Rendern. You get perfect result.

Please watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMLGI8LzZ8Q&list=UUbNFY1keh4zKaigQHwBhujA (it is for our UV-Packer, but the same procedure is in your case to be used with Unwrella)

thanks
best regards
